A Martian baby accidentally arrives on Earth, while an Earth baby is mistakenly sent to Mars. A father, Joseph Wilbur, and his wife try to raise the unusual Martian child as one of their own, but he eventually builds his own spaceship and escapes, prompting Wilbur to embark on a mission to find and return the Martian to his parents in order to switch his own child with the Martian one.
