Rubber Racketeers background

Rubber Racketeers

A reformed ex-con finds redemption through a life of tire theft and resale, but his fortunes take a dramatic turn after a chance encounter with a group of defense workers in a devastating car accident.

After being released from prison, Gilin turns to a life of crime, stealing and reselling tires in a black market racket. His plans are disrupted when he gets into a car accident with defense workers Bill and Mary, and he is forced to give Bill his old car. As Gilin's operation grows, he sells faulty synthetic tires, leading to a tragic accident that claims the life of Mary's brother. Bill and his colleagues track down one of Gilin's car lots, and Gilin orders Nikki to set a trap for him. However, Nikki betrays Gilin and warns Bill, leading to a confrontation at Gilin's apartment. In the end, Tom, who had pleaded with Gilin to stop his illegal activities, is shot by his former boss.
