In a serene national forest, a sudden change takes place with the start of hunting season. Most bears retreat to a cave, but one, Humphrey, finds himself in a precarious situation when he can't make it to the cave on time. He takes refuge in a cabin, where he disguises himself as a bearskin rug to evade Donald Duck, a hunter.
