A retired school teacher, B.V Pradhan, struggles to cope with the loss of his young son Ajay in New York. His wife Parvati tries to move on, but Pradhan remains in depression. When a struggling actress, Sujata, moves into their rented house, Pradhan receives a letter about Ajay's ashes and learns that Ajay may be reborn. Parvati believes Ajay will be reborn as Sujata's son and supports her, but Pradhan's obsession with justice for Sujata puts him at odds with a corrupt politician and his family.
