Lau Sing, a man from a rural province, leaves his family to pursue a lucrative business opportunity in the city with his friends. After four years of success, a deceitful gambler sets fire to their building, killing his friends and framing Lau Sing for the crime. Despite being defended by young lawyer Siu Chin, Lau Sing is wrongly convicted and sentenced to death.
