She Went to the Races background

She Went to the Races

A horse owner's world is turned upside down as she joins a desperate gambler's mission to conquer the racetrack using a revolutionary new approach.

A group of scientists at the Brockhurst Institute of Research, including Dr. Pecke, Gurke, Pembroke, Collyer, and Ann Wotters, must come up with a plan to save Dr. Pecke's job and research after he's let go due to lack of funds. They decide to pool their money and bet on a horse at the racetrack, despite knowing nothing about horses. Along the way, they meet Steve Canfield, a horse owner, and his horse, Mr. McGillicuddy, who becomes their hope for winning. Meanwhile, Steve and Ann start to develop feelings for each other, but their relationship is threatened by Steve's past with fellow horse owner Hilda Spotts, who is a more logical match for him.
