Tietou, a poor Chinese worker, illegally emigrates to Japan, losing his documents and becoming trapped. He finds work and lodging with fellow Chinese immigrants in Shinjuku, but soon gets caught up in a gang war. After saving a Yakuza boss's life, Tietou becomes embroiled in the mob's dirty business, leading to a power struggle with his own people.
