In Los Angeles, a terrifying urban legend is spreading: the Slit Mouth Woman. Claire, who's haunted by the nightmare every night, seeks out a professor of urban legends research to understand the phenomenon. Her investigation reveals that the incidents are not isolated to the Slit Mouth Woman, but are instead connected to other Japanese urban legends and ghosts that have somehow taken root in LA. As the professor believes that some of the murders are linked to these Japanese legends and spirits, Claire begins to experience the horrors of these myths firsthand - and soon realizes that she herself is slowly transforming into the very legend she's trying to understand.
