Two Chicago musicians, Joe and Jerry, flee town after witnessing the St. Valentine's Day massacre, seeking to escape gangster Spats Colombo. They join an all-girl band headed to Florida, disguising themselves as Josephine and Daphne, a saxophonist and bassist. Amidst the chaos, Joe pursues Sugar Kane, the ukulele-playing singer, while Jerry becomes smitten with millionaire Osgood Fielding III.
