Prince Hamlet is in deep mourning for his father, the king, and is outraged by his mother's quick remarriage to his uncle Claudius, who has taken the throne. After his father's ghost reveals that he was murdered by Claudius, Hamlet vows to avenge his death. He feigns madness while plotting his revenge, but things take a dark turn when he kills Polonius, thinking he's Claudius, and later discovers that he's been sent to England to be killed. In the end, Hamlet returns to Denmark, where he ultimately kills Claudius, but not before being fatally wounded himself.
