In Panama, Maggie King meets soldier Skid Johnson on his last day in the army and agrees to a date, which ends in a nightclub brawl, causing her to miss her ship back to the States. Stranded, Maggie moves in with Skid and his friend Harry, and soon falls in love with Skid.
