The cartoon begins when some gangsters ask for directions to an oil refinery, leading to a series of events involving the Munster family and their cousins, Igor and Lucretia. The cousins form a band with Eddie, and their music becomes a key element in the story. The family buys a haunted hearse, which runs on music when it runs out of gas, and they use it to win a race against the gangster boss. However, the gangsters capture Spot, the Munsters' pet dragon, and threaten to harm him unless Grandpa destroys his invention. The young Munsters ultimately thwart the gangsters and rescue Spot.
