The Decks Ran Red background

The Decks Ran Red

Terror lurks on the high seas as a group of rebellious sailors concoct a sinister plot, putting the lives of all on board the S.S. Berwind in grave danger.

The American cargo ship SS Berwind, an old WW2-era Liberty Ship, is stuck in New Zealand without a captain after the previous one's sudden death. The ship's crew is uneasy, and two of them flee, prompting the hiring of a local Maori cook and his wife as steward. The parent company hires a new captain, Edwin Rummill, who is greeted by an undisciplined crew, demoralized officers, and an untidy vessel. Rummill is unaware that some crew members, Henry Scott and Leroy Martin, are plotting a mutiny, intending to destroy the radio equipment, kill everyone on board, and claim a million-dollar salvage fee after drifting at sea for months.
