Five college students, returning from spring break, crash their car in a remote New England countryside. Stranded, they seek help in Emeryville, an old, abandoned western village. A seemingly friendly caretaker offers them shelter until a mechanic arrives the next morning. As night falls, the group discovers Emeryville was once a site for secret, failed experiments. The residents, far from normal, live by a set of rules, including "We keep the ones we need". Trapped and fearing for their lives, the group plots an escape, but when the villagers realize it could threaten Emeryville's existence, they become hunted by a strange and crazed group.
