Physics student Sonja Fitzgerald stumbles upon a mysterious VHS tape in her basement, which reveals a black-and-white film of a man performing a ritual. As she investigates, she uncovers a shocking truth: the film is allegedly from 1594, created by a time-traveling sorcerer who imbued it with his spirit. When Sonja watches the film, the sorcerer, Var, is released and begins to terrorize her with relentless attacks.
