In Barcelona, a neurotic scientist named Manel becomes obsessed with the idea that the laws of thermodynamics govern daily life, writing a thesis while working as a teacher assistant. His life with his long-time girlfriend Raquel ends when he crashes into Elena, a famous model, and Eva, a young lawyer, on the street. Manel breaks up with Raquel and starts dating Elena, while Pablo, his friend and CEO, dates Eva. However, Manel's neurosis and compulsive behavior eventually drive Elena away, and he tries to win back Eva after she leaves him. Meanwhile, Pablo tries to get Eva back after she breaks up with him.
