A con man posing as a mind reader, known as Chandra the Great, travels with his sidekick and uses his fake abilities to swindle people. He meets a woman named Sylvia, who becomes his secretary, and pretends to be genuinely interested in helping people. However, his lies are eventually exposed, and he is forced to abandon his mind-reading act. He starts a new life as a door-to-door salesman, but eventually returns to his old ways, using his fake abilities to gather information and sell it to jealous wives. When his true identity is revealed, he is forced to flee and eventually returns to clear his name and ask Sylvia to wait for him.
