Calamity Jane, a saloon owner, faces a dispute over her property, the Prairie Queen, from Frank Mullen's niece and her lawyer. Calamity and her aide try to run the lawyer out of town, but he outwits them. After listening to Calamity's story, the lawyer decides to support her ownership. However, the dispute continues until Calamity and the lawyer recover stolen letters that prove her case. In the end, the lawyer marries the niece and leaves Calamity to mourn the loss of her true love, Wild Bill Hickok.
