In a remote area of Southern Mexico, an archaeologist is convinced that remnants of the ancient Toltec civilization remain hidden. He sends for a photographer, but his expectations are disappointed when a young woman arrives instead. Despite his initial annoyance, she successfully captures the images he requested of a local fiesta and later convinces a plantation owner to join their expedition as their guide. As they venture deeper into the jungle, the archaeologist's initial condescension gives way to a growing respect for the photographer. However, their developing feelings for her create tension, which intensifies as they face mounting dangers.
