A young Japanese man, inspired by American westerns and his childhood fantasies, embarks on a journey to become a cowboy after being laid off from a fast food job.

A young Japanese man, No Ogawa, is inspired by American western movies and decides to become a cowboy after getting fired from his job. He visits his pen-pal Kate Beatty in the Canadian prairies, hoping to ride off into the sunset with her. However, Kate is an artist living a reclusive life and has no intention of marrying. Her mother, aware of Kate's secret, hopes that Kate and No will end up together.
