Ellen, a teenager, moves in with her father and his ex-wife, Hilly, into a small trailer. Hilly is struggling to cope with her husband Roy, who was severely injured in a logging accident, and refuses to acknowledge his existence. However, Ellen senses that Roy is still alive inside.
