Two Dogs background

Two Dogs

Two Iranian men in their 30s navigate unemployment, depression, and self-doubt, but one finds solace in translating a classic novel, giving his life new meaning.

Two 30-year-old men in modern Iran face unemployment, depression, and self-doubt. Iman translates Kafka's "Investigations of a Dog" and drives a cab, encountering passengers mirroring Kafka's characters. His friend Sajjad, inhibited by his appearance, strives to raise funds for surgery. Both men find solace with their similar-looking dogs, often unwelcome in their families, which provide companionship in traditional Iranian society.
