A sailor, Jack, is always penniless and has been imprisoned multiple times. He's infatuated with a London woman, known as "the Eskimo", whom he's pursued for two years. Despite his lavish gifts, she rejects him due to his occupation. Jack resorts to deceit to marry her, but she leaves him after discovering the truth. Jack then struggles to win her back.
