Wedding in White background

Wedding in White

A father's desperate quest to safeguard his family's honor unfolds as his teenage daughter, a victim of sexual assault, faces an unintended pregnancy.

In a small Ontario town during the early 1940s, 16-year-old Jeannie Dougall is a naive and self-doubting teenager who escapes into the romantic lives of movie characters. Her best friend Dolly, who is more experienced and confident, often encourages her to try new things. Jeannie's parents, Scottish immigrants, are conservative and religious, and her father is a member of the Honor Guard. When Jeannie announces that she believes she's pregnant after being raped by her friend Billy, her mother shows some sympathy, but her father is more concerned about the shame this might bring to their family.
