A 17-year-old girl named Dusty moves in with her grandfather while her Army parents are away fighting in Afghanistan. She befriends a group of students, including Savanah, whose father also served in the Army. Together, they form an equestrian drill team and perform at rodeos and parades. When Dusty's mother's helicopter is shot down and she goes missing, the team decides to put on a special show to lift everyone's spirits, including the soldiers fighting overseas.
