A young boy named Fletcher is sent to live with his grandparents in South Central Los Angeles after his parents' death. He struggles to fit in with his cousin and peers, but finds solace in dance with the help of an eccentric girl named Alexis. As they grow older, their love for dance and each other deepens, but they face challenges and tragedy that test their relationships and force them to make difficult choices.
