Bhoothnath Returns takes the story of Bhoothnath forward, as he returns to the ghost community and faces taunts and condemnation for getting bullied by a kid on Earth. He seeks redemption by scaring a group of kids, but his search leads him to Akhrot, a slum kid who can see him. They form an unlikely friendship and join forces to take on a corrupt politician, Bhau, and fight against injustice in the face of fear and uncertainty.
