In the Manchester suburb of Pepperhill Estate, a long-standing conflict erupts between Triad gangs and street gangs. Cousins and lifelong friends Ray and Terry, who have always trusted and relied on each other, are released from prison. While Ray yearns to leave his gangster life behind and pursue a romance with Clare, Terry is consumed by an all-consuming obsession and vows to prevent Ray's departure. As the local Chinese Triad gang grows stronger and more brazen, they orchestrate the murder of a member of Terry and Ray's gang, prompting the gang to seek direction from the two former inmates. Amidst the chaos, aging gangster Bernie struggles to maintain order.
