Elly Jordan, a talented Brooklyn crooner, and his bandmates find themselves broke at a Wyoming dude ranch owned by Jane Hardy. Singing for their supper, Elly is discovered by Broadway booker Roy Chadwick, who mistakenly believes him to be a genuine cowboy and decides to launch his career. However, Elly's fears of animals and lack of knowledge about the American West make his newfound fame challenging to maintain.
