A former thief, Forsdyke, undergoes rehabilitation in a strict correction program run by a wealthy ex-con, Widdowes, and his organization, Crooks Anonymous. His innocent girlfriend, Babette, hopes for his redemption and promises to marry him if he reforms. But, during a Christmas night locked in a department store, Forsdyke's old habits resurface.
