In the shadows of Penn Station, near the Amtrak tracks, a makeshift community of squatters has thrived for years. Filmmaker Marc Singer ventures underground to capture the lives of this unconventional "family" of men and women who have built a fragile existence amidst the urban jungle. As they share their harrowing stories of childhood trauma, incarceration, and addiction, their daily struggles and triumphs unfold, revealing a sense of resilience and camaraderie. Despite the harsh conditions - including a bucket toilet and leaky pipes providing water for showers - they've managed to create a sense of home, complete with pets, cooking, and social rituals. However, their existence is threatened when Amtrak serves a 30-day eviction notice, casting a shadow of uncertainty over their fragile world.
