In the year 2059, the Doctor lands on Mars, joining the first human colony led by Adelaide Brooke. However, the day of his arrival marks the destruction of the entire settlement, and its inhabitants are killed in a mysterious cataclysm. As the colonists begin to transform into zombie-like creatures, infected by an unknown agent, the Doctor is faced with a difficult decision.
