A lone dog, Pluto, is left to guard a ship while the crew is on shore leave. As he's scanning the horizon, he discovers a hidden cache of bones and settles in for a snack. Suddenly, a sneaky rat appears, and Pluto springs into action to defend his newfound treasure. The rat cleverly outsmarts Pluto, leading him to the officer's mess, where he's bribed with food. Just as Pluto is about to indulge, an officer approaches, and the rat quickly hides, leaving Pluto to take the fall. However, Pluto exacts his revenge.
