Fort Osage background

Fort Osage

A ruthless trader exploits vulnerable settlers, swindling them out of their valuables and promising passage to California, prompting a fierce Osage backlash against all wagon trains that enter their land, fueled by the theft of their own stolen goods.

A ruthless entrepreneur is fleecing settlers who join his wagon train from Missouri to California, while secretly betraying a treaty with the Osage Nation by withholding promised trade goods. When the wagonmaster discovers the deceit, he attempts to rectify the situation before the Native Americans take violent action, but is thwarted by the entrepreneur's hired thugs, who are instructed to eliminate him.
