A young nerd, Ralph, escapes his harsh reality by creating detailed fantasy game worlds. At university, he takes over the fantasy role-playing society and becomes infatuated with Marlyn, a Goth chick who believes she's an elf. However, his old enemy, Lennie, a former dope dealer turned fantasy fanatic, joins the game and catches Marlyn's eye, sparking a love triangle that leads to an apocalyptic explosion of geekish angst.
