Ruthless nightclub manager John Quinn books a struggling band led by Don Vincente, but tensions rise as Vincente resents Quinn's handling of his personnel. Meanwhile, Vincente falls for Quinn's secretary Toni, and his music gains popularity despite Quinn's attempts to sabotage him. When Vincente lands a radio show, Toni refuses to leave her job, prompting Quinn to try and lure Vincente back to the club.
