US Army Corporal Rudy Spruance arrives at a remote Greenland military base, only to find himself mistaken for another soldier, Corporal Martin Pederson. As he tries to clear up the confusion, Rudy faces two major problems: he's not supposed to be there and he's stuck with a new identity. With his goal to escape the base, Rudy begins a secret relationship with Sergeant Irene Teal, but their love is threatened by the dangers of discovery.
