Hachi-ko

A heartwarming tale of the unwavering devotion between a dog and its human companion, as the dog's unwavering loyalty and affection persist even in the face of separation.

In Akita Prefecture, a puppy is born and sent to Professor Ueno of Tokyo University as a gift. Despite his wife's reluctance, Professor Ueno adores the puppy, naming it Hachi. Every day, Hachi accompanies Professor Ueno to Shibuya Station, greeting him in the evening, regardless of the weather. When Professor Ueno suffers a stroke and passes away, his family moves away, but Hachi remains loyal, continuing to visit the old house and wait at Shibuya Station, believing his master will return.
