Marshall Briggs, a struggling advertising executive, is tasked with creating a new campaign for Luxenberg Beer after the success of his "Miss Luxenberg" beauty contest. His original idea led to his marriage to Janice Blake, but his neglect of her has caused tension in their relationship. As Janice announces her pregnancy, Marshall comes up with a new idea to feature all the former "Miss Luxenberg" winners, now "Mrs. Luxenberg", in a contest. However, the project hits a snag when the last winner is pregnant and most of the former winners have gained weight due to their love of Luxenberg Beer.
