The film is set in 1901 and follows Constable Peterson's quest to bring an Aboriginal man to justice under White Man's law. Peterson and his tracker, Jubbal, embark on a journey to arrest the accused man and bring him back to Melbourne for trial, but they face numerous challenges and ultimately discover the futility of their mission.
