Land of Plenty background

Land of Plenty

A profound exploration of the human condition, delving into the complexities of emotional pain and social isolation.

Lana, a worldly American woman, returns to Los Angeles from Palestine to work at a mission for the homeless. Born in Ohio and raised in South Africa and the Middle East, she's a global citizen connected through the internet and aware of how others view American culture and patriotism. Her unique relative is her uncle Paul, a Vietnam War veteran who cut ties with his family and is bigoted and paranoid. Paul lives in a surveillance van, seeing conspiracies and terrorist cells everywhere, and harbors prejudice against Arabs and other non-Americans after 9/11. When they meet and witness the murder of a Pakistani man near the mission, they embark on a journey to deliver his body to his family in the small town of Trone, where Paul encounters a different reality.
