Dawna Wilkins, a strong and self-made woman, is head of the Hanson museum. She meets John Collins, an Anthropology professor, through her friend David. John helps Dawna authenticate Incan artifacts and takes Dawna's daughter Emily into his class. Despite being attracted to John, Dawna is hurt when he sees her only as a friend. One month later, Emily goes missing and is later found murdered.
