In Rio de Janeiro, writer Zeca lives with his partner Júlia, an arts professor, and struggles to finish his novel. After seeing Júlia with her friend Carol, Zeca becomes obsessed with Carol and starts following her. When Júlia leaves for São Paulo, Zeca seizes the opportunity to have an affair with Carol, but his plan backfires.
