A middle-aged couple, Irene and Klaus, struggle to complete their new home in Petrópolis, a small city near Rio de Janeiro. Irene works as an independent seller and studies for her high school diploma, while Klaus runs a small copy shop and bookstore. Their eldest son, Fernando, is a talented handball player who is unexpectedly invited to join a professional team in Germany, forcing his parents to confront the early separation from their child and adapt to a new reality.
