A stenographer works for a psychiatrist, casually dating a private eye. The psychiatrist's patient, an author, has recurring dreams of murdering his wife, who owns valuable jewels. When the wife is found murdered, the husband is suspected. But as the investigation unfolds, it's revealed that several people, including the stenographer, are not what they appear to be.
