Manila Calling background

Manila Calling

In the midst of World War II, a daring operation unfolds as American soldiers and Filipino rebels simultaneously capture a Japanese jungle outpost, commandeering its radio to disseminate anti-Japanese propaganda, which in turn sparks a series of retaliatory attacks from the Japanese military.

A group of American radio technicians and their Filipino allies escape into the jungle after the Japanese capture their radio station in the Philippines. They join forces with a band of Moro Scouts and make their way to a coastal plantation, where they launch a surprise attack on a Japanese unit to secure a vital radio transmitter. With no food or water, and surrounded by the enemy, the group must fend off Japanese attacks and find a way to send a message of hope to the occupied Filipino people.
