A struggling musician, Mickey, plays Christmas carols on his standup bass for spare change, but receives only useless items. He catches the eye of a wealthy boy who demands Pluto, Mickey's loyal companion. Initially resistant, Mickey changes his mind after his bass is destroyed and he sees a group of orphaned children with no presents. He decides to play Santa and bring joy to the children, while the wealthy boy learns a lesson after mistreating Pluto.
