My Sweet Orange Tree

In this heartwarming film, we meet Zezé, an 8-year-old boy living in a humble home in Minas Gerais with his family. Despite facing poverty, an abusive father, and bullying at school, Zezé finds solace in his vivid imagination and storytelling skills. When his family moves to a new home, Zezé discovers an orange tree that becomes his daily confidant. However, his outgoing nature often gets him into trouble, including a misadventure with a local eccentric, Manoel Valadares. After being caught and spanked, Zezé seeks revenge but instead finds an unlikely friendship with Valadares, who shares his own fantastical world.
