Tyler, a young adult, lives with her selfish mother who collects disability benefits despite being able-bodied. After her father, a Mexican immigrant, passes away, Tyler inherits his estate. Initially, she decides to give everything to her mother, but later discovers her mother's lies and runs away to her father's old apartment to learn more about him. As she uncovers her father's past, she meets Apostolis, a young man her father mentored, and begins to understand her father's life. Meanwhile, she must decide how much to reveal her true identity to Apostolis, with whom she is falling in love.
