In the midst of World War II, a young communications officer is sentenced to death for cowardice, only to have the execution delayed by a surprise German attack. The condemned man and his captor, a guard, form an unlikely friendship as they embark on a perilous journey to deliver the officer to headquarters, facing numerous challenges and battles with the enemy along the way.
